A semester has ended, and a month long break begins.

Hello readers!!  Sorry I haven't updated lately but between long drives back to school and the stress of finals giving you a daily entry for my favorite things has gotten away from me.  When I arrived at UCM in August I didn't think winter break would come so quickly...but as I journey back home, books bought back, and the stress of finals is over I am so happy to sleep in my own bed and eat real food...not that processed stuff.  As I reflect on the semester I am remembering all that God has blessed me with this semester.  I have been blessed with an amazing Christian Campus House family that taken me in as part of this amazing community of Christ followers.  Gaining so many new friends at CCH has been a huge blessing.  We go out to eat, do our small group on Wednesday nights, and hang out on the weekends.  After having a rough start at college, I never imagined I could be where I am today without CCH.  Also I was blessed with an amazing new sister in October.  She is such an inspirational person and I can't wait to see her in a week with my brother!  Lastly, I have been blessed to have grown closer to my father God.  He has done such amazing work in my mind, body, and spirit these past few months.  Life isn't ever easy, but all you gotta do is believe God will get you through.

On another note, things have been good in other ways too.  I'll be back on soon to display my favorite things...I promise this time!!

"Though She But Little She is Fierce"

Enjoy your break college friends!!

Thanks Guys!! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ˜ΈπŸ˜ƒπŸŽ…πŸŽπŸŽ„

Troubling Excitement. Warning: This post contains the truth.

Alright folks....here it is the most HIGHLY anticipated blog post of my blogging career.  However, it comes with in a severe form of disapointment; J.K. Rowling is NOT WRITING AN 8TH HARRY POTTER NOVEL.  I recieved the rumor link this morning and ran around in excitement telling Facebook and Friends..and now I want to set the record straight.  As any good writer will, I evaluated my sources.  And what I found was pure heartbreak.  According to MuggleNet.com, the #1 source for all things HP, the rumors are sadly...false.  The source that ran with the story was an unidentified source that no one in the Rowling camp would have recognized, so why would they release it to the unknown?  Who knows.  Whoever did release the rumor however, has crushed nearly every Harry Potter fan on the entire planet.  So thank you rumor mill...thank you.  Oh well, I do hope J. K. Rowling will once more write a bigger, better finale and that the world will finally know...that it is truly the end.  I have posted the link to MuggleNet.com for your personal reading and to know the truth.

Here is the link: http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/7200http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/7200

But the good thing is 24 1/2 HOURS UNTIL I GO HOME!!!!!  I am so excited to go on Fall Break!!

Oh well folks---that's all for a couple days, I promise I'll be back this weekend REVIEWING CATCHING FIRE!!

Are you going to see Catching Fire opening weekend??  What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  Are you doing Black Friday...oh and there will be some views on why I think Black Thursday is wrong too.  What's the #1 item on your Christmas list?

Thankful for all,

Do you really know how much the Swedes rock?

Hello folks!  No...not much has been going on with me since my last post I am here today to tell you about a certain video that has probably graced your social media feed at least once.  Now within my family my mom raised 2 pretty avid cyclists...one has even done 112 miles on a bike 3 times, so there I bragged, cause its pretty dang awesome, no one else I know has done it...so he's pretty revolutionary.  The other, also an avid cyclist has like 6 bikes that are built and probably enough parts to build a 7th.  And then there is me...I own a TREK bike that for awhile was my only mode of transportation to get wherever I wanted to go.  We all own cycling shorts, a variety of helmets, they have their clip on shoes, tires, we are all obsessed with these Honey Waffles that Lance Armstrong endorses, along with Powerade, CLIF bars, and we all have our specific socks.  However, I have always endorsed helmet use because who would want to crash without a helmet and lose brain function?  Not I or anyone else I know, that's for sure. But let me get to the point of this post.  The video explains it all...with closed captioning of course it tells the story of these two women who have started an invisible helmet revolution, because just believe it...bikes will one day replace cars as a source of transportation.  To me its basically an airbag for your head.  It looks like the top of a puffer vest, and it clips around your neck and must have some source of an electronic sensor in it that releases an "airbag" of sorts around your head when it senses impact.  It encompasses your entire face.  All lobes of the brain, and it looks like a motorcycle helmet when it releases.  Overall, I am very proud of the Swedish.  Could someone in the U.S. endorse this and get it stateside to begin testing?  Now, I still don't believe it is a good alternative to a helmet, I know sometimes a helmet can be uncomfortable, but that means it probably is not fitting correctly.  So you can easily get that fixed by a professional at a local store.  They are all avid cyclists so they know what they are talking about and what they are doing.  However, I would not be surprised to see this in the states in a few years, or for some American genius to come up with a replica.  Now the price isn't the greatest (its $535), but for the technology it houses, it might be worth the splurge.  I don't know, but the only way you'll get it is making a trip across the pond to Sweden, so start using your airplane miles now.

Here is the video to watch it...I will post the link and see if it shows up...I have never posted a video to my blog, so it may take a minute or two.

And that is why the Swedes rock, GET MOVING PEOPLE!

P.S. During this month of Thanksgiving what are you thankful for?  Comment and you'll be part of my next blog...which will be most likely be some sort of health blog about how since coming to college, eating habits totally change.  And what's your favorite Thanksgiving food?  COMMENT!

Weddings, Winning, and Losing.

Hello out there to all my alien readers!  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!  Sorry its been 3 weeks since my last update but so much has gone on that its been hard not to fall asleep before I have the realization that I need to update my blog.  So first off, the first part of my post title- weddings!  As I spoke of in my last post, almost two weeks ago I saw my big brother get married in a gorgeous outdoor setting!  Yes, we froze our legs off at the rehearsal dinner the night before where I am pretty sure it was freezing rain...but then the wedding turned out to be a beautiful day and it was so great to see all of my family and gain a new SISTER!  So yes, technically that also categorizes under the second part of my post title, winning, but it was actually meant to be for something else.  Over the last few weeks I have seen my home boys- the St. Louis Cardinals win postseason game after postseason game, the atmosphere in STL is amazing to see so many fans in red and even students here at college rooting for their favorite team (although here in Warrensburg it is half and half-- St. Louis Cardinals or Kansas City Royals).  However, if you find yourself bonded at the hip with a social media site such as Facebook or Twitter...or Instagram you will know that last night, unfortunately the Boston Red Sox gained their 3rd World Series title (oh wait...that's right the Cardinals have 11 TITLES).  However, the numbers do not matter and honestly, every pitcher, catcher, outfielder, infielder, or hitter played great--on both sides.  STL had some injured players come back and it was great to see Lynn and Craig out there on the field again along with another Golden Glove for Yadi and player of the year--Michael Wacha.  So all in all that was the losing part of my post, but they are still #1 to all of us here in STL and personally, I thought it was great to beat the Dodgers before the series---I mean why wouldn't we?  Mark McGuire trained half of our guys from the ground up, so thanks for the "winning" help.  Now that I am done with my rant I conclude this part with saying that I am so happy for my brother and I hope he has a long, healthy, amazing marriage and to the St. Louis Cardinals, no matter if we win or lose, you'll always have the greatest fans in baseball.  Now lets go get em next year!!  (By the way...its only 104 days till pitchers and catchers report to Jupiter, FL for Spring Training...time to rest up and come back with a more legendary roster).  In other thoughts, I have been busy here with school and giving time to Jesus and I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving and sleep in my own bed for a week!  Okay, its time to go to class, I hope you all have one fantastic Halloween and give out good candy...for your houses are the ones we always remember to go back to time and time again.  But I just thought of a good idea for December--each day starting December 1st I will be sharing one of my favorite things!!  It may be a picture, a product, or something in season--but whatever it is it will be great!  And I will leave you with this---  "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.  Matthew 6:34 (NIV).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FRIENDLIES...HAVE A GHOULISH AND SCARY NIGHT---and remember...do not give candy to kids unless they say Trick or Treat---and whether you are a parent or kid--SAY THANK YOU!

Lovely day to all, you'll hear from me again soon!
Hope :) :p

It's the start of something new.

Hey Ladies and Gents!!

Sorry it's been a little since my last post, but things have been all over the place here.  Most recently, I joined an intramural soccer team and tonight was our first game.  Unfortunately, we lost 8 to 7, but still worked hard as a team!!  Also, I have exciting news about a potential project I am working on!  If you have or have not heard of Christian music artist Steven Curtis Chapman you should definitely check him out!!  He has some amazing work musically and he is really good in person!  Not only is he a Christian music artist but he also has an organization called Show Hope.  Show Hope is an organization that raises awareness and money for orphans with special needs.  They have a few other organizations under them such as the Red Bus Project.  Here is a link to their site- www.redbusproject.org. It is literally just like it sounds- it's an old converted red bus that is like a thrift store on wheels!  The clothes come through donations made, and all of the proceeds go towards orphans with special needs care.  Now you are probably wondering, well why am I telling you this?  Well, the Red Bus Project goes on tour this spring visiting colleges, and I want UCM to be one of those stops!!  I've been in contact with people from Red Bus and I am excited to get started on all the logistical stuff in order to hopefully get the bus here!!  I am hoping that God allows this to happen as I want to see students get involved in something that requires you only to shop!!  It's fun and easy and they would be helping orphans with special needs in the long run!!  Lastly, in a few weeks I will be standing on the side of an altar watching my big bro get married!!  I can't believe the day is almost here and I am beyond proud of my 2nd amigo!!  I also can't wait for all 3 amigos back together as I miss my bigs so bad!!  We've been apart too long and the days just aren't the same without all three of us under one roof!!  Anyways, I hope that you too become inspired to start something too, because you don't have to be in an organization to start something, you just have to believe that you can and you will.

Love you readers!! Night!!

Fitting In

Hello friends!!  I hope you are having an amazing time on each of your individual journeys and I hope God continues to bring you peace in whatever hardship you may face.  But now let me tell you why I am really writing this.  My first few weeks of college were rough; I will not go into detail about what happened, but lets just say it was not what I imagined my first few weeks would be.  Sure, I met a ton of new people and handled not gaining the traditional "freshman 15", but in the end after walking up a huge hill and rolling down the other side in despair, I realized that it was all part of God's magnificent plan for me.  Now that those weeks are behind me, I am starting to see Warrensburg, Missouri for the town it really is.  UCM is not a "college town", we are a community.  The people here are 100% willing to help you out and the professors are phenomenal.  UCM is truly a place where the professors are committed to their students.  Also, THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE!  GET INVOLVED!  In the past 2 weeks, I have started to go to club meetings, eating with friends, and found a church home that has honestly been the best part of my year so far.  But enough about school...lets talk about something else.  And yet, I can't think of anything else.  Nor do I have pictures to upload of my favorite obsessions.  Yet, I guess based on my last post, I will personally review iOS 7.  Lets just say, I really like it, the graphics and new interface are great, but still I just do not like iTunes Radio--I MEAN COME ON YOU ARE KILLING PANDORA!  However, I want to hear from you guys if since upgrading, you have seen your battery decrease on any Apple product.  I know i have on my iPad, so its either my system upgrade or I just get on Facebook and Twitter too much.  But, definitely, iOS 7 is a lot easier to use and the ways to close out apps, ask questions to Siri, and use the search bar are a world of better since iOS 6.  Lastly, as I transition here, I want to hear feedback from YOU my READERS!  I am so happy to have readers--I never thought it would happen.  I thought I would be that girl with the lonely blog.  So as a result, I ask you to come up with my next few topics to talk about.  It just has to be appropriate.  Please, please, please, reply to my Facebook blog posts and suggest away!  And I leave you with this as I go to my last class of the day- As I sit here in the library looking out into God's great creation, I ask myself what can I do to not only change the people and places around me, but the world as well?  We all have so many dreams, whether its to join the Peace Corps or travel to China to work with special needs orphans.  Or if your #1 thing on your bucket list is to do a TED talk, GO FOR IT!  I am here to encourage all of you, so do what makes you happy and change the world, because soon enough it will all be worth it.  And if you are going through struggles and are living in the deep, dark hole of pain and depression-remember there is a way to get out of it.  I trust that God has a plan for all of you and it is going to be placed on you in a thousand different ways, it may just not be your time yet.  So keep smiling and I will be back in a few days!!  Until then, its the SEASON 10 PREMIERE OF GREY'S ANATOMY TONIGHT SO WATCH GREY'S FANS AND LAUGH, CRY, AND DO A 30 SECOND DANCE PARTY WITH ME AND A MILLION OTHERS TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love to you all!!

Prioritizin!!

Hey folks!  Sorry its been a few days since my last post-been busy around here, staying up late, studying for tests, sleeping, eating, and cleaning.  Thats life in college.  Fitting to the title of this post- based on my last week of buisiness I have learned to better prioritize myself and what I need to do so that way I can be more successful.  So actually I should be reading articles right now out of my Sociology book and answering follow up questions instead of writing this but I wanted to update all of you on my latest adventures.  Like most of the world yesterday I too downloaded iOS 7.  And I think it is pretty dang great!!  The newly changed interface gives the Apple products a zing in their step.  It makes them brighter and friendlier!! Also all the new finger movements make it incredibly simple to change music, close out apps (which one should always do--it helps to save battery life), and to check your notification bar and search.  Having everything in my notification bar is nice too.  It allows you to see your calendar, weather, social media notifications, and texts.  Lastly, the only thing I worry is about iTunes Radio...personally I prefer Pandora.  But I think with the update of iTunes Radio, Pandora will slump.  But iTunes Radio still only lets you skip a certain number of songs, but has no ads.  So pros and cons.  But I do suggest that if you have not upgraded- DO SO!  But PLEASE BACK UP YOUR APPLE DEVICE BEFORE YOU DO!!  That way you do not lose anything important!  Back to college- Parents Weekend is this weekend and I am so excited to see my dad after being back here for 3 weeks!  Trust me future college students, you will call your parents every day because you will geniunely miss them.  Its a fact!!  But I have discovered a little more about Warrensburg so I am excited to show my dad around town.  And HAVE FUN MA!  Plus I joined my Christian Campus House and I LOVE IT!  I have also joined a small group Bible study and LOVE the girls in my group!!  Joining it was one of the best things I have done!!  Also, the best part has been meeting more people and not having to eat by myself!!  Today was good, the best thing was getting a surprise care package from my brother and sister in law!!  Thanks again Ben and Melissa!  Also I wanna give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to my other brother Joe Wright as he completes his THIRD IronMan this weekend!!  Good luck big bro-you will do amazeballs!!  I am so happy for you!!  MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!  (Hunger Games Reference!)  Well goodnight all, may your dreams be sweet and don't forget to eat breakfast--its the most important meal of the day!!

Love to you all <3

Life So Far

Hello again!  Its been a few days and so I wanted to update everyone on everything and anything.  Since I last spoke, I have filled out some forms for international special needs orphanages trips.  I have also had the chance to go back and visit Delta Zeta, to see if I can get a "continous open bid."  I go to these events because I did not get a bid for a sorority when I went through formal recruitment and so the hope is I get an open spot bid because I really want to join a sorority!!  But I have also grown during this time as well.  I have realized that a sorority is just a sorority, not being in one does not ruin your college experience, it helps you to get involved in other stuff on campus.  For example, I have gone to Campus Christian House for worship on Sunday and I have also joined a small bible study group and I had my first meeting last night!  I loved it, the girls are so nice and such good people!  I have also joined in on Central Society for Child and Family Development majors and I have also joined CHAMP which is for students interested in the field of Child Life.  So as you high schoolers can see, there is MUCH MORE than Greek Life!  Get involved in everything you can or else you'll be staring at the wall in your dorm room all year!  Its gotten a little better here, and I feel like I have so many new friends!  Soon I hope to post some pictures of my favorite products and talk to you guys about them!

Believe in Yourself, and Your Dreams Will Come True,

Hey everyone!!  Sorry its been so long since my last post!!  Things have been crazy busy around here!  First off, I hope everyone is having a great school year so far!  These last three weeks have been super rough for me, but I am so happy to hopefully be getting them behind me.  Homework is cray cray in college, I especially don't like BlackBoard.  I like being able to get paper assignments and hand them in the next day.  In college you have so many long term assignments!! But its nicer because you get 10x more sleep then you did in high school.  Socially, I've joined my Christian Navigators group here at UCM and in Collegiate Choir we are preparing for our concert already at the end of this month!!  We had our "choral retreat" this weekend, and it helped us to further memorize our music.  Did laundry today too and have hung out with people.  The big thing was that I went to my first football game this week!!  It was alright, we lost in the last like 30 seconds, but our school definetely needs to pump up the spirit!  The bad part was I had no clue what was going on, so my dad will have to explain the game to me on parents weekend.  I would much rather watch the STL CARDINALS play.  I had an amazing time on Labor Day and I loved being able to go home!!!  Luckily, my brother comes in town for dinner with me Friday so I'm so excited!!  Thats pretty much it...college life I suppose.  Homework, eat, sleep, class, homework, eat, sleep.  Oh and somehow have a social life too... :p

I AM ALIVEE

Yes readers, I am still alive just had a very long weekend.  Classes have been going well, lots of reading high schoolers!!  Be prepared to also not have your assignments handed to you but rather them be online.  It's a pain...along with not gaining the traditionally told freshmen 15. Eat light lunches, because who knows if you'll have time to grab lunch between classes.  Yesterday I even taught a guy how to do laundry.  And I too have to redo a load today. A backpack is a must along with water!! See now I'm off my soapbox.  Hopefully I can get back on soon and update you more.  Don't forget to wash your hands!!

First day as a college student!!

Hey everyone I hope you are having a fantastic time wherever you are!!  Yesterday was my first full day of classes.  I had one morning class in which I liked it because there are only 9 of us in the freshmen seminar class!!  I met a lot of new people and had lunch over in the other dining hall.  I then had sociology and Individual and Family Relationships in which I was tired because they were after lunch classes.  I came back did some homework and then had dinner with my friends from down the hall and ended my evening finishing my reading and watching Pretty Little Liars!!  Such a good show!!  I'll be back later today to finish but now I have a meeting with a professor and its off to a very long day.

The First Days of College!!

Well here I am at my first few days of college!!  So far it has been so exciting to meet new people, my professors, and the dean of my college.  I am equally nervous as excited to begin my classes tomorrow!  I am pretty much unpacked and going for a dry run of my classes today per the advice of just about everyone I know.  Tonight is the sorority recruitment info session and I am so excited to get dressed up in something cute and be myself!  I think I'll wear my Free People lavender jeans.  There is not much else to tell except I am so happy God has casted away my nerves and is letting me be me!!  Tomorrow there will be a much longer post so keep looking!!

Hope :)

Welcome to my Blog!!  This is my first post so I'm sorry if its rusty.  First of all, I just wanted to share a little bit about myself.  For starters I am entering my freshmen year at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg Missouri.  I am beyond excited for the road ahead and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me.  Second of all, I am a Christian.  And in my first post I wanted to share my testimony.  I have always grown up in my home church, but a lot of the time I never truly understood what anyone was saying so I fell out of believing in a way to say it simply.  Then it came time to be confirmed as a member of my church, I went through the process and the confirmation but I never really got what it was all about.  So even though I was confirmed I still didn't have Jesus in my heart.  It was not until I went to Camp Barnabas for my second year that I finally accepted Christ when I was 16.  Since then I've been so happy to officially have Jesus in my heart.  It feels so amazing.  Truly accepting him has helped me through so many difficult times.  Lastly, this blog will be a little bit of everything from words of wisdom, fashion and product reviews,  to pictures, and much more- so I hope you are all ready for the ride!!

Choose Red and always believe in the impossible!!
